God is a recurring dream

I forget when I wake up

Survive the routine progression of trouble

Purpose can’t be read on the back of a milk carton

Home is neglected then abandoned then chased

A pattern exposes itself, a vision, a premonition

A moralistic orgy followed by a haiku on restraint

Stand above the inlets grieving green eyes

A lagoon of sugared tears

I question my name

Symbols appear subconsciously then consciously

The sails unfurl, white wings in the wind

The free bird can’t be freed

Deprivation is as dangerous as greed

To want is to suffer

Maybe next life will be a calcified rest
